Next Blog
Well, what it does should be fairly obvious.
Anyway, I clicked it fir the first time today, just to see where it took me and I ended up in some strange lands...well, not really.
There are so many blogs on this site that I don't know why people would ever bothing with hitting the 'next blog' button.
I clicked it and got a family's blog about their missisionary trips, a school district's legislation information, and three ELS related blogs...hm.
Maybe I'll try it again some other time, for a longer amount of time.. For now I can't really see my screen because I'm sitting in front of a window at my school. Technically that could be anywhere because most of my school's walls are windows. Anyhow, I think I'm facing East, and the sun is shining into my eyeballs...

Leap Year
Apparently women can propose to their men today...though I don't see why they can't do it on any other day (or year) if they are the kind of person who would want to do that.
Personally, I would not want to propose to my boyfriend at all. I think I would feel like I was missing out, and I'm sure he would hate me for taking that away from him (at least my current boyfriend would feel that way).
There is a reason for everything! So why do we randomly have an extra day every four years? Any guesses? If you didn't already know, it's because every year is actually 365.25 days long... We obviously can't have a random quarter-length day every year, so they are added up at the end of four years and we get one whole day!
Apparently this started in the days of Julius Caesar.
'Leap Year' would seem to apply to the entire year.. I mean, a single day wouldn't be called 'year'. I guess it's the year where leaping takes place? If feels more like...slowing down? taking an extra day doesn't seem to involve any leaping... that makes it sound like we lose a day, or maybe the whole year! The year that is leaped over...hmm...
Maybe it's a year for leaping! ....I'm just going to stop now..

Explaining My Last Post Somewhat..
So, last night I blogged and typed up a load of nonsense.
So! Here we go:
Nothing In February Yet Eh?
Yeah, that's right, I freaked myself out thinking someone had hacked me or something only to think "heeey wait a minute..."
Yeah..
I will blog later, I really can't think right now. I just finished editing (hah, suuuure) a philosophy paper and fixing my Sims 3 expansion that wasn't working. What an interesting combination...
And, now I'm tired and thinking about weird things and typing words into this box instead of reading for my class tomorrow...and instead of sleeping!!! I'd better get on that.
Well, anyways, I apologize for wasting your time..."you" who probably isn't really anyone because no one reads my stuff... maybe this is a good thing then? I'm not wasting anyone's time...except my own maybe.
AH well... argh, still getting used to this new keyboard. AS I SAID I WILL GET TO NEW STUFF LATER I AM DONE WITH PROCRASTINATING... you know, it wasn't until about half way through typing the word "procrastinating" that I actually turned caps lock on..? I think I'm one of those people who prefers to type in all caps while holding shift down..curious.
ANywas. Goodnight.
(gosh dangit keyboard)

People Who: Wear Blue Eyeshadow
This bothers me like you wouldn't imagine.
People wear blue, especially baby blue eyeshadow, when they shouldn't. How do you know when you should or shouldn't wear it? Well, if you have a darker complexion, say if you are African American or Italian or something, chances are that you might be able to get away with it. The darker your.complexion is, it would seem, the better it looks. Also, I would suggest mid range blues or darker, because baby blue rarely looks good on anyone. Going to the other extreme, if you happen to have a very light complexion, you might be able to get away with a very light blue. Don't confuse this with baby blue that I just finished complaining about, thing more towards white. Subtle blues, you could say...a hint.
Blue eyes: I know makeup commercials say that you should wear blue to highlight the blue in your eyes, but I'm going to challenge that. If you are like me and have not so bright, or a slightly less obvious blue, a dull blue maybe, or dark, blue eyeshadow is also probably not a good idea. The only thing I can say is that you should be able to wear hints of blue in makeup, this will accentuate the blue in your eyes. Also, try sticking to more neural colours, bright blues are best to just be avoided. I find the brighter the blue and the more of it that is worn, the less your eyes actually look blue. When I wear blue eyeshadow, if I'm wearing a little too much my eye colour begins to look quite dull.
For my eyes, which are a darker blue, browns tend to look the best, warmer browns or cooler browns. I find my eyes pop when I wear slightly more redy browns or goldy browns...or just gold. Also, whenever I wear eyeshadow I never wear less than two shades or colour. I like to do the whole contour shadows and highlights thing. I also like to wear bits of purple (as opposed to blue) and foresty greens in rare instances.
As a general rule, bright colours don't usually look that great as eyeshadows on most people. There are exceptions of course, but like I said, general. Muted, subtle, just hints, and neutral versions of colour tend to look the best.
I also find that older women are the ones who wear baby blue eyeshadow the most. These are also the people who, in my opinion, should avoid it the most. I can not recall there ever being a time in my life where I have seen someone (especially caucasian or older) and thought that it looked good....
Just consider this next time you think of wearing that bright colour on your eyelids.

Textbooks
When going to meet someone, you think every person might be them, even when they don't fit the description.... He said the guy was tall, but maybe he's more of an average height, and I didn't get a hair colour or anything. I have a name, but that doesn't tell me much, though I might have an ethnicity from it...but maybe not.
Textbooks are way too expensive. You think university students' wallets are drains by tuition? My books cost a good chunk of money too..
With meeting people who I've contacted over Craigslist or Locazu.com, I've bought two books used so far, I have one this morning, and another one hopefully within the next week. In total, from my original purchase amount, I will have saved abouttttt.... $100.00.
Haha, the guy I was meeting actually found me while I was writing this post. And he was quite tall XD
Some other places people get used textbooks from are places like Amazon, random other sites that sell books, buy and sell Facebook trade groups..etc... You can also rest textbooks. I haven't done this personally, but some people would pursue this option, as it can potentially be quite a bit cheer than buying the book.
I don't know, I have a lot more university to go. Maybe I'll have tried evey type of book buying, selling, borrowing, renting.. I guess I'll find out!
Now.. off to class!

SOPA and PIPA
SOPA is the 'Stop Online Piracy Act'
and
PIPA is the 'Protect IP Act'
Various websites (such as Wikipedia) are 'blacked out', or shut down for today in protest.
Wikipedia, at them moment, only says info about these two bills and why it is against them and whatnot.
A snippet from their page:
"SOPA and PIPA represent two bills in the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate respectively. SOPA is short for the "Stop Online Piracy Act," and PIPA is an acronym for the "Protect IP Act." ("IP" stands for "intellectual property.") In short, these bills are efforts to stop copyright infringement committed by foreign web sites, but, in our opinion, they do so in a way that actually infringes free expression while harming the Internet"
I believe that SOPA grants the power to censor content on websites that includes anything copyrighted, and PIPA can block sites altogether. (But don't take my word on that, I might have them backwards, or mixed up a bit)
You can find these on Wikipedia at the moment, but I will also share these links:
Here you can track SOPA
Here you can track PIPA
and here will tell you a little bit about why everyone is saying that it's so bad (or at least one person's opinion).
So, basically people are freaking out because the internet is supposed to be all about sharing information and connecting and all that. But, I do get where some of this is coming from. I mean, censoring twitter posts and such things that are completely harmless and ultimately useless has no point. However, stopping piracy of software, movies, ect.. I get that part. I like downloading the occasional missed TV show, or something in another language that I can't find here, but I don't know how justified it is to download all pirated programs and movies that are still in the theatres.
I am against the bills, of course, otherwise my blog would probably be shut down even though I'm based out of Canada... I agree with some of the ideas behind the bills and where they are coming from, but they just aren't going at it the right way. This is just making everyone mad.
Do some research and decide for yourself. What do you think?
Aside: if you enjoy memes and all that then these might entertain you/help you understand SOPA

and there are many more where that came from...

Old Videogames :)
I purchased it from some guy off of Craigslist for $50.00. It included, two controllers (one of which I'm confused about the working condition) and 7 games: Mario World, Super Mario Allstars, Donkey Kong Country, Mighty Morphing Power Rangers, some fishing game (aka Super Black Bass), a crappy racing game (aka Stunt Race FX), and another game that I've never heard of (aka Darius Twin).
The only games I've gotten a chance to play so far are that racing game (hence why I know it's crappy), and Power Rangers. Power Rangers is a side-scrolling fighting game, and it's great. Hahaha. Well, I just really like power rangers, I don't know about you though. Maybe you woudn't appreciate it as much as I do. In any case, it's actually not that bad of a game.
I am delaying playing the Mario and Donkey Kong games, because I have played them before and I feel a little like I am saving the best for last.
Now, I just need some NES games to play besides Super Mario Bros. And maybe some more decent SNES games and I'll be set :P

Public Transit and Whatnot
The other day I was sitting across from a guy who kept petting his balding head...lol
I saw a lady the other day who was wearing a Jonas brothers hat.
There was this guy yesterday who kept playing guitar on his leg and moving around while he played some baseball game at full volume on his phone >.<
On a bus ride with my boyfriend, I saw an 18-wheeler semi truck pulled over by a cop on a motorcycle. It was funny because of the size difference. I also don't see cops on motorbikes that often these days..
I watched as a lady was being arrested beside her car. That was an interesting sight.
I've been in the bus as it slammed on the breaks, sending people practically flying into each other.
I've also been in the bus as it hit another car, well, tapped a car.
What really bothers me is when people listen to their music on their ipods so loud that I can hear all of the words.. The reason you have tiny speakers in your ears is so that other people don't have to listen to your music.. Also, have fun loosing your hearing at a young age, let me know how fun it is when you can't blast music loud enough to hear it at all.
A fun experience (not really) from this past semester: The bus driver apparently didn't know all of the various routes that the buses take from my point A to point B. There are a bunch of different ones because of construction going on at different places on different days. This driver, I don't know, maybe he was new to this route or something, because we ended up going down the freeway, past the exit to go towards my school, and then over the bridge. He had no idea where he was going, so one of the passengers directed him toward Ikea, where he turned around. He was directed to the nearest skytrain staion, where all of the passengers were dropped off. Here, we were actually closer to the big campus, which itself is a half hour bus-and-skytrain trip from the campus that I go to for all of my classes. So, we hopped on the skytrain, had to transfer skytrains at the next station, and then made it to school in the knick of time....just in time for a midterm of mine.
So, like I was saying here, we also have a skytrain system. I have no idea where else in the world they have skytrains, or anything like them. Probably more than I can think of.. I know in Japan they have 'bullet' trains, or Shinkansen,, which (the newer ones at least) can go over 300 km/h (180ish mph). I'm not entirely sure why you would need to get anywhere that fast unless you were travelling distances.
Anyways, I don't go on the skytrain very often. The only time I do is when I want to go to Downtown Vancouver or some place where it would be more convenient than driving. (Or apparently when I get dropped off by lost bus drivers..lol)
I found that if I sit backwards on the skytrain (because they have seats facing both directions) I get motionsick instantly. It's kinda weird, and really annoying.

Getting Back In
On the bus ride on the way to school, there was this guy sitting next to me, and he had this book. I thought he was sleeping on the book or something, like, he fell asleep while reading or..I don't know. He had his hood up and whatnot. Well he wasn't sleeping, I figured that out when he turned the page of the book and stared intensely at the page....all of six cm from his face..or like 3.5 inches...lol, near-sighted much?
During my Philosophy lecture and tutorial this morning I had to sit and stare as the girl in front of me was wearing her sweater inside out. Lol.... it kinda bothered me though. Sigh. I just wanted to poke her, but I don't think she would've appreciated it much...I mean, what's she gonna do? Strip in the middle of class? Lol, no.
Then, after my philosophy lecture and tutorial, I had a three hour break until class. My friends ditched me, so I sat at a table by myself for three hours until I had 'Psychology and Law', which was a three hour lecture. Nothing too interesting happened during that one... :P

Tawny Creepin
I pet her like she wanted and she was a happy kitty, lol
Autocomplete: How
Everything in purple is what I typed in, and the following in black is what Google gave me. I know I should've done it the other way around, but it's kinda late to do that now. Too much work...
Anyyyywaysss..
there are many sites to do this, depending on whether you want the entire video or just the mp3.
For mp3 use a site like this or this.
For downloading the actual video... maybe something like this, or maybe this. I haven't tried these two for myself.
anyone in math class should know how to do this, it's useful for doing division of course.
It's easiest when dividing a number by a one digit number, but still works for everything else.
say 68 ÷ 4
becomes 4|68 (I can't find the proper symbol)
4 goes into 6 once so a one is written over the six, six minus one four is two, so two is the remainder and written underneath the six
1
4|68
2
the eight is brought down to make 2 into 28
1
4|68
28
four goes into 28 seven times, so a seven is placed above the eight. The 28 created by multiplying 4x7 is subtracted from the 28. 28-28=0.
17
4|68
28
-28
=0
So, 68÷4=17
Go here for something more complicated
let me count the ways
I'm going to assume this is talking about love?
unless of course they are referring to a movie by the same title, which pops up when you type this in.
As for my first guess, if you 'knew', you wouldn't be asking ;)
Light enters our eyes though the cornea which flips the image upside down. The light passes through the lens where it is bent and projected onto the retina at the back of the eye. It is then picked up by the optic nerve and interpreted by the brain.
There are also rods, cones, and ganglion cells involved...but if you want more details you can look it up yourself :P
Icloud works the same way other cloud networks work. Like Dropbox, which is cloud storage. I don't use apple products but from what I see, it works like any other cloud network. Information from one device is stored in sort of 'cyberspace', which is available on your other apple devices.
Ah, a song title.
another song
Hm, well. Use the car less and walk or ride your bike, take the bus. Buy local goods instead of imported. Get creative.

"Colors and patterns are from the types of ions or atoms being energized as they collide with the atmosphere and are affected by lines of magnetic force."
um...
A story is something told about anything by anyone.
A myth is usually more traditional or culturally significant. Stories told of gods and godesses are myths. They usually try to explain historical events I think. Like, a Greek goddess is the reason for good harvest...or something like that.
the TV show.
when I first saw this one I was kind of confused. I was thinking "either people really can't spell or..." and then I found that it was some flash video based on a yahoo answers question
click here to see it... it's completely ridiculous.
The periodic table of elements is organized by weight of each element. It's also organized in periods and families. Periods go horizontally, families go vertically. Elements in the same family have similar qualities.
How come you never go there?
How come I'm--- yeah...no
About 1.25cm or 0.5in per month, and 15cm or 6in per year. It depends on the person though, not everyone's hair grows at the same rate.
And, there you have it.
